Nice Ride. Guess you cant put too many horses in a car with wood spoke wheels.

Those wheels are made of aluminium.... woodgraining makes them look like they were vintage stuff.

    What engine is that?

Kinda cool. Super nice fabrication work.

Too much work (cha ching!) to look like stock for me though.

too cool. I love the fake wood wheels. They look authentic. That car is definately a sleeper. You should try to bring it to one of the national Model A meetings in the USA. They would be blown away seeing that thing.

2008 it's in Dallas, so come on over!

Engine is Ford BDA rally car engine. I´m not sure how fast that car is, but owner of that car, he is very fast... He has won World Rally Championship four times! And few months ago he made a new world speedrecord driving on ice...

    http://www.mat.fi/news.htm see more about it...

On ice it looks very much like driving on salt lake...

No, not Ari Vatanen (who is now french Member of European Parlament), but Juha Kankkunen. Driving trainer and farmer. And one of us, car nuts...

Awesome!!! I like that kind of "motoring".

  16. The end of the video says 200kilometers per hour, which is about 125mph. Not bad for a housebrick!

Very impressive. Kinda like killing a fly with a baseball bat. Can you just imagine if that were displayed at a Model A restorers meet?
Actually, I've detected a sort of mellowing among the T and A crowd the last few years. Some of those old boys have been overheard giving a nicely done hot rod the thumbs up. Of course the flathead powered ones get the most respect and I can understand that.

I was lucky enough to own a ex Vartenen Works BDA Escort back in the early 80's. Those things were absolute weapons. Ruled world rallying for nearly a decade and can still give a lot of modern rally cars a real surprise. I would imagine that the A would be a real handful but a absolute blast to drive.

attitudor: I'd love to have the Escort back! They were one of the most awesome sounding of all the Rally cars and the ultimate to drive. The other projects those guys have are all real cool.
