A Plymouth 3 window Coupe in the Wild

A Plymouth 3 window Coupe in the Wild

Sometime ago I wrote about the virtues of the Plymouth PB (and PA) coupes as a less expensive option to the Ford 3 window coupe. The only issue you’ll find, is that about 1/6th as many Plymouths were built compared to the Fords, so it’s actually quite rare to see one around… A few weeks ago, I was at a steam-powered event called ‘The Roots of Motive Power’ in the train-country of Willits, Ca., and there, parked along the tracks was a bone-stock ’31 Plymouth PA coupe. I snapped some quick photos and it reminded me of how sharp this little coupe is (and the PB even more so). My only word of caution then and now is that these Plymouths feature parallel front leaf springs, so they aren’t quite so pretty when you run them fender-less!
