Dirt Tracking in the Bay Area- Part II

As promised, here is part II from Ron’s photo archive showing vintage dirt track shots from the Bay Area. As far as I know, these images have not been published elsewhere, and this latest batch has a few shots of the Ben Hubbard T Roadster in action. Also shown is Vic Gotteli (Ted Gotelli’s brother, of Speed Shop fame) and long-time Bay Area racer Mervin Furtado, who just passed away last year, at 87 years old. I’ve also included a few shots after the cars got wrecked, which really makes you appreciate the level of risk these guys took on the track. They had little or no roll bars or a decent harness to keep them from getting thrown or crushed by the tumbling car.
