    Checking in
10" of snow = 15" of mud. Late spring storm and I am getting anxious for a banger outing.
Thrust bearings now in a really good B block that has been fitted with inserts. It has a standard/standard counterbalanced crank. We will see where this winds up.

  6. There was a very small Model A hill climb this past Friday over in the small town of Unicoi, TN. My friend brought over his B powered roadster, but unfortunately had electrical problems.
Very light turnout, but some nice cars plus notables such as Ron Kelley from Texas and George Miller from North Carolina.

Ron Kelley's speedster hauler. Four door, tilt bed, B Cragar (?!) with 5 spd and AC!! Sorry for the bad pic!

Unusual Lingo head (looks like a Cragar). Aluminum cross flow with Winfield.

It's been a long ugly Winter ....... Wet Grey and Cold. Spring isn't and Summer is not a "Summer Forecast"
Racing will start in a couple weeks with test days only. We'll back out with the little Fiat 126p.

It's nice to see pictures of sun and cars gathered together ... people having fun.

With my vision failing and hand tremors I feel OK taking things apart but not assembling engines. So I'm designing and having items made and projects stack up for a time when I can do something more productive. AND hoping this is just a bump in the road. In a few months there will be one more series of eye surgery and maybe it will help. The old guys here will tell you. Just about everything takes a year to heal-up The years stack up. So do the projects. Sad but true.

Here's something to think about :)

Given the right lever we could all move the world

Happily hoarding parts on this fine Mayday. Worked on my rendering, far from artistic. Mulled over using more T style suspension bits on this one, but changed my mind, going to use more Model A tie rods (and ends) grafted into various parts. That extra metal just makes me feel a bit more secure.

Look at all that room for a speedster that will fit a normal human! Plus lots of storage space.

  25. This will work also.
Did you notice all the plates welded to the outside of the previous pictures block?
I have heard about people just welding plates allover the outside of the block to strengthen them up.

I think that one is a HAL block or early prototype.
The plates on the block were the water jacket covers.

Guys...looking for the Dennis Cling hydraulic brake conversion bracket and m/c for Model A transmission. Mr Cling said the market fell out and he's not producing them anymore. Of course I found this out after I finally pulled the trigger and ordered it last week. Does anyone have one, know someone that has one and doesn't plan to use it? This is pretty much the last mechanical operation before I get my coupe on the road. I have a WTB on the Ford Barn, but couldn't post one here on the H.A.M.B. Any and all help appreciated.

You could try Sammy at Arizona Model A. He stocks Dennis' stuff and might still have something on the shelf. Longer shot might be Derek Thomason in NZ who also took a lot of Mr Cling's stuff home.
