I'm having a crazy morning. The better half is out of town and that has left me in a mad scramble to get the two big kids on the bus, the baby all settled in with a movie and some milk, and me in a mood to figure out an article for the day. Thankfull...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
I am so glad I was able to stand at the staging area and watch Kerry's runs. The whole crowd was so happy for him and we clapped and cheered and whistled and hooted and hollered after he made those last two passes.
Kerry has got it in spades doesn't he!!! I think that maybe just for thought one should make a distinction between nostalgia racing and vintage racing. or maybe smeone doing it the hard way and someone else hanging a vintage looking body on a modern body and calling it "nostalgia". The nice thing about the HAMB Drags nationals and the HAMB on general.Th overwhelming majority doing it the hard way, vintage at its best. Anyway not to stir the hornets nest, just something that is on my mind. Great shot great thought my young friend.
For those so inclined ... the entire '58 event program is available for your reading pleasure in my The 1958 NHRA Nationals thread ... just click the thumbnail:
Got Milk? While writing this Ryan drank the rest of the milk from the carton and now has a milk mustache. Poor kid drank water.
A really impressive performance. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it all play out. Here's an outtake from the calm before the story (aka final run).
I'm not big on using the the term epic. But it fits here.... Kerry's Last run was Epic. So glad I got to see it.
And as he was getting latched in on one of his runs he looked up as his kid was latching him in and I was trying to take a "cool" photo with my iPhone and I could see his smile thru his helmet and his 'eyes' said "Hi Chris"........Very cool to see that you posted about him today. This is cool stuff. Like the explanation of drag racing in the '58 program. Hemi32 is one lucky guy. Thanks for post and keep drinking your milk Ryan.
If the HAMB was a game, then in my mind Kerry is the players player, as he leads by example, and have the greatest of respect for him and his achievements. Cheers, Drewfus
Yup, two thumbs up for Kerry. I've visited with him a few times, and I can tell you he's the real deal. A hard working, no BS kind of guy.
