the seat looked and felt like an old Sunday coat
My sister wore a coat every winter Sunday just like that in the 50s. I'm sure you are glad that you didn't settle for something OK but held out for that perfect match. It makes the results sweeter.

Beautiful work - a bit more formal than I expected.
I'm looking at the car shots and now with that seat I keep thinking "Top Hat". In a good way. The car now reminds me of fine old Top Hat.
