Steve Johnson, owner of GarageArt.com, has been a long time supporter of ours. If this site was a garage and all of our members were walking about bullshittin', wrenching, and hanging out, Steve would be the guy...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
TOO COOL!!!! That shot of the rail launching and the guy on the right just grinning and moving with the exhaust wave up his shirt, wow!!

The photos Don sent me were great! http://deadendmagazine.com/may09_page347-348.html I have to thank Waldo "AgentWaldo" here on the HAMB for putting me and Don in contact! -Juan
Pure Hell with a Chevy has always been a favorite, but the rail, wheels up buried in smoke, who can argue with that!! You can almost hear 'em. Have a great one,Cat
Great pictures and memories I remember going to Lions back in the early 70's. If you had a pit pass, you could stand 20 feet behind the funny cars and top fuelers as they took off. Try that today! The grandstands were close at the starting line, maybe 40-50 feet from one side to the other. What great meets they had there, my favorite was the Coca-Cola meet in 71 or 72. bob
