Why don't we see more of the "dress like old time hot rodders crowd" dressed like that guy? It must have been traditional we have an old picture of it .

...He He He...:D...you know what Kool Kat said even the ugly stuff...:p

I dunno some have a way of mixing it all together and making it work and I suppose at those period events...the Beachy ones it may be part of the festivities...but the most vintage I get is Hamb T-shirts and Jean's...I'm boring but the Hotrod isn't...

...The Master's DragCoup...a nasty all business looking Racer...moved on to Street duty later in its retirement retaining most of its original charm but was radically altered in a further restoration including a roof raising to how do I say it a more typical Hotrod 34...okay but ripped of its former soul...as a Wild Thing...

Thread by @Ryan on it below...it's an interesting read
and typical of many survivors to date...

You know @austinrods new acquisition of Bill Smiths Pride and Joy just makes for one hell of an amazing passing of the torch...I'll bet Bill was a little shocked that someone would have such a desire to bring it back to it's former glory...I mean he kept going with the flow himself...

Bill did have a vivid imagination and he managed to get it right in the middle of both Hotrod and Custom in 1957 and never looked back...
Austin is busy so I'll toss up a couple of The Orchid up in it's original livery...

at least that's what I think it is...

I wonder if they bored exhaust through the side panels as the ones with pipes out the side were notched into the hood...
The Bumper is a work of art...wish there was more pics...anybody know about this Jalopy Racer...o_O

That is a great way to lower parallel spring front ends. It's done by swapping ends with the frame to use the rear kick-up in front, mounting the axle on top of the springs and the springs outside the frame. Many of these were three springers so a Ford set up was used on the read anyway. I'd do that on my roadster but the rear of the frame was cut off when I got it.
