Not exactly sure what "modern hardware" there is to be removed, but not being a particular fan of bomber seats they would be the first to go for me. Other than that, beautiful car.......

I think he means the Powergen is the modern hardware. Other than that, I think I could live with it. :)

I really like the crosshatch treatment on the aluminum sheet. Different patterns on flat surfaces have always interested me. It's neat to see alternatives used for added texture.

Slipped right by me, but I'm not traditional enough for it to bother me. It's a shame the fuel system was plumbed as amateurishly as it was, but it's probably just my OCD flaring up again......

Man, what a nice looking little roadster! Not sure I'd change a thing.

I noticed that (and like it), too. Makes me wonder how they did it? Simple as laying down crossed rows of masking tape and run a scotch brite pad over it?

Nice details. I particularly like the latches that hold the hood top on. Anybody know what those are?

That is a nice Hotrod and I am surprised that with so much expense put toward a period look that there would be a powergen or whatever it is attached. With the money involved in this puppy a more period look in that department could and should have been achieved. Its not like the thing had a huge electronic demand.

I still wouldn't kick it out of bed but thinking in a true period sense...why.

I think generators are awesome...and the fuel system doesn't strike me as being out of place...its rubber and runs vintage gauges at the very least inspired. I don't feel there is anything amateur about this Hotrod. Nothing seems overdone to me.

The Aviation themes will always exist due to the hobbies connections to wartime, youth, and availability to wartime surplus back in the day and it was lighter to boot...helping you go faster.
    Thanks @Jive-Bomber

It is a 1929 look at the door sills model a on a deuce frame. I like the car but not a fan of a few items and can live with them:D . It's crazy about the shifter area.

@HellsHotRods perhaps that is the Vin number and just an vintage looking add on to the actual Vin somewhere else...and the almost machined shifter boot plate is actually probably aluminum made to match the firewall and chrome screws may have looked a little better.

In the description I noticed that the frame is original '32, but the body is a Brookville. I bet they got that number off the frame (which might have come with a title?)...

Have you even looked at the photos? That chunk of aluminum isn't diamond plate, and the crosshatch matches all the other aluminum panels on the car. Not out of place at all.

  19. Trust me, Mike Dingman did not run out of money.

The couple times I talked to him, he was a gentleman and an exceptionally nice guy.

What a gorgeous car! It is my opinion that Webster should use a picture of the car to define "hot rod."

A beautiful car. I saw it a few time's at the longleys shop when it was being built. I cant understand why people feel the need to pick a car to pieces on the internet. I just wonder would you say it to the owner or builder in person while looking at it at a show?
The longleys not only build cars that are period correct but do so with traditional tool's and method's. You won't even find a mig welder in there shop. There car's are literaly built like they would have been done in the fortie's. How many critics have had a car on the lawn at Pebble Beach?

Man, tough crowd. I'd drive the wheels off that thing just the way it sits.

Why all the negative BS, it's one persons vision of a hot rod. I'm sure the owner could care less about the crap posted here on the H.A.M.B.

First time I've ever seen a "Dropped" 28-29 gas tank and cowl, glad that never caught on. Bob

It was wrecked pretty bad in the trailer at pebble beach and was not repaired by the Longleys
