Yeah it looks spiffy but I don't think I'd ever run an exhaust like that as I put my arm out on occasion to feel the breeze and that indeed could inflict a serious wound...

Yes as Loudbang said chestnuts getting in and out to boot...no go...

Cripes, imagine if the towbar slipped down...when you're on a mission accidents are not always part of the equation And I suppose he lived to tell the story...

Just did this one a few weeks ago. Fella built himself a replica of his high school car to take to his 50th class reunion. Cool!!!

...Hamber @hotrodderhaag has been fighting two evils...a near death experience in his Hotrod that virtually buckled or destroyed the Hotrod and a Cancer diagnosis that he continues to fight head on...he, in this battle for bringing positivity to these negatives took on the rebuild himself and Hot off the Hamb Press his Pale Rider is back again to help in bringing the Spirit back...Good to see you Ben, Louvers and all...;)

Reflections, there are so many awesome pictures shared, this one apart from being a great shot has the windshield area, wipers and even the rear view mirror reflected onto the cowl...the Angled parking lines give the illusion of a hill as well...I feel for our friends that have the Fender Laws...they try very hard to get that Highboy look...the louvers are awesome as well...I like both the non linear and linear...it is pretty cool seeing just a sliver of the trunk exposing a lid full of more awesome metal punching...oh yeah...

Thanks @loudbang for your many contributions...;)

I'm not sure where @Bad Bob's inspiration for his Merc came from but this Mercs owner must certainly know of his that's for sure and just to be clear nothing wrong with that either...I wouldn't suicide the doors but the inspiration for that goes waaaaay back and if the doors are closed does anyone know they're suicide...;)

  19. The inspiration for my flames came from three different cars. A Chevy, a 56 Ford, and a Studebaker.NOT that thing....

    A Tri-Fecta of inspiration...
I know your heart is way more Traditional in its direction I was just curious...the interior peaking out looked off period as well...no offense to your Merc...I'd without question much prefer yours in my driveway...;)

Do you switch out your rides for a little variety these days?

  21. No, the Merc is gonna get a repaint later this year. I always wanted a Hotrod, so when Conrad offered up his Coupe, I jumped on it!!! Anybody who knows me, knows how much i hate Pep Boys mirrors on a Custom or Hotrod. And those stupid hupcaps are lame....hahaha

Yes there are notably a number of details that knock it down...I missed the Mirrors and the Bumpers don't sit well with me either but it's not my Custom of course...

Repaint...similar mix of red Flame on Black?

  24. Yes, exactly the same , with flames, but clear coat instead of satin. It was too hard to take of. Now, i want to just Quick Detail, and walk away, hahaha.

  26. Is it just me, or do chopped Merc's look better with drip rails? Without them it gives the illusion that the 1/4 window height is lower than the door window. The drip rail gives the eye something to follow.

I always believe the Hotrod/Custom movement was an escape from Big Auto...and when you stand back and look at the details one better understands why they did things the way they did...

I suppose the Color, Lighting and Visual Angle all effect how things Talk...and oh how that detail had raised temperatures over the years...

Dean, you do raise a linear issue I can't remember noticing before though...but I sure remember the NO driprail flames...

I do like that Merc...I'm surprised the grille isn't a little more modded though it's a stock grille correct?...The Louver pattern is different and it is a wet looking paintjob that's for sure...

...and those Hubcaps are the Coolest!!

I guess a 32 Ford can pull off just about any color. I probably would have added more louvers but it still looks good.
