Looking forward to the Mid-America 1000, Vintage Car Rally in Conway, AR ( http://vintagecarrally.com/page54.html). Most of the competition will use newer vehicles, we use our Miller OHV Powered 31 Vicky to take advantage of Age Factor benefit. Lot of fun, very competitive, with great people and organizers.

Also, the Miller Meet is next weekend (10th and 11th) in Milwaukee, same weekend as Indy Fest. Really interesting Vintage Race Cars if you are in the area, including Pre-WW II Indy Cars.

Our McDowell-Model B Powered Race Race was built a long time ago, but not a Street Legal Banger . Newest part on the car is probably the Tube Axle (38 Ford V-60?).

The Victoria is a pressurized, balanced Model A Engine, with Serr-Miller OHV, image.jpg a mild cam, FSI Electronic Ignition, a Single Stromberg 97 on a 48 Base, with a 4:1 Header and Super Trapp exhaust. The driveline has a Mitchell Synchro Transmission and Overdrive. We use the car in Vintage Car Rallys and Touring. It can be driven on the highway easily at 60 MPH, and will run in-town stop-and-go traffic without any problems. With the Overdrive, you can run the engine in the power band (1800-2200 RPM) at about any speed in traffic (also helpful to maintain speed in Rallys). The hood sides were off in this picture because we were running at slower speeds in very hot weather. Engine runs cool 160-180, but was concerned with fuel & fuel pump getting hot.

This is an original CRAGAR (1935?) head on a B. Also equipped with a Stromberg-Bendix intake (1931). Great driver as the '29 cab is stretched 6-1/2" and the drive train includes a T-5 and F-100 steering box. However, I regret painting the engine Ford blue! MVC-009S.JPG

The Rear-End is Model A with 3.78 Ratio, and we do have both the Mitchell synchronized Transmission and their Overdrive (Gear Splitter).

Also, we live at 5,000 ft above Sea Level, and frequently travel to 7,500 ft, Estes Park, and have traveled to 12,000 ft, Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) with the Vicky. We run with traffic to either altitude, but Trail Ridge Road in RMNP manages your speed.

Other Club Members more stock Model As have also make these trips, and Estes Park is a 30-35 mile trip through Big Thompson Canyon from the host location for the 2016 MAFCA National Convention. RMNP is just west of Estes Park.

buddy baker has no fix cancer . a great loss to all ...........

  30. Probably been answered a bunch of times, but what weight of trans fluid or gear oil would you use in a stock 20's transmission?
I'm in the process of restoring a '22 Chevrolet 490 trans and need to replace the fluid. The car will be a speedster and the trans will be "pushed" a little every once in a while (possibly on a South Jersey beach in early October ) :)
