Makes me wonder about the many jack-stands that look like the HF stands; but with differing brand names. Have to look over at the Garage Journal and see if any further info.

I’ve had the lighter ones under my race car for 7 months to keep the tires of the ground. There no way the pawl cold ever let it drop unless the steel split...62392. There is a you tube showing the difference between the number I listed and the recalled ones.... there is definitely a difference...

 

I'm not smart, I'm just lucky.
It seems I bought jack stands with the steel pins that slip through the matching holes. Crude but effective.
