Returning to Durango in a couple of weeks and will install my new engine. Found a ‘32 style dash that fits the ‘28-‘29 Model A and considering an update. Original tank is full of rust and was replaced with 10 Gallon tank in the bed.

I have just installed my equalizer intake with a pair of 97s. The intake does not come with a throttle arm and the one off my Ansen is not very comfortable on there. Is anyone aware of a throttle arm that works with this intake? Snyder's sell one, but I'm not sure if it works or do I have to make one?

If you can weld, it wouldn’t be too hard to make a custom length/shape throttle arm like the one you posted.

I had this one saved in my eBay watchlist for a year or two, but never bought one.
Might be what you’re looking for.

I have that same manifold with 97’s and had same problem. Charlie Yapp originally made it for the Riley 2P program but changed to Equalizer when he sold off the Riley 2P

There needs to be some offset in the arm so none of the standard throttle arms work . All that I tried had some type of interference. I’ve been told that Charlie had a specific arm that came with the kit, but I’ve never seen one.

The one from Snyder’s is a similar design for most and won’t work. I’ve tried the Burns arm along with several unknown arms. None of them worked.

I ended up making one from the pattern from Scalded Dog Speed, a C.Yapp company. I used aluminum vs steel and have no problems.

    Hope this helps.

How about up yonder? Been very little snow here this year, not much more than a foot and mostly above zero (farenheit), a lot teens and 20's. Until last week when the bottom fell out of the thermometers. Luckily, it's nearly always wind free here.
Screenshot 2024-02-03 105813.png We need a touch of cool weather occasionally to weed out the intentionally homeless that want to live under the bridges, this should do it, haha. Supposed to be above zero tomorrow and for the near future. Gaining over 6 minutes of sun every day now and the sun is getting high enough in the sky to have some power. Shouldn't have any more extreme cold this year... especially since Al Gore overheated the planet.

When I asked Charlie about the throttle arm, he never mentioned the pattern, but rather told me about the one from Snyder's. I wasn't particularly impressed with that arm so I am going to make one from your pictures. Thank you for those.

Ain't quitting the day job any time soon. As I have about 30 linear feet plus or minus 1/2 a mile of wire beaded edge to make, time to learn. For the first go tried 22 gauge 3/16ths rod. Since the valence panels aren't structural, thoughts on 22 gauge? Or should it be 20 gauge? Learned my lesson on 18 gauge building seats, not doing that again. Happy February. Continuing the speedster saga, picked up an engine at auction, complete unknown. What I did know it has no compression. From the outside it looks very well thought out with some interesting details. There was a model A intake and exhaust mounted with no adapter plate. The earliest vw distributor conversion ever, off a 36hp bug. The head is a cast iron Simmons. There is also an Exterior oil line from the starter side of the hogshead to the front of the block. Today I started pulling it down. What other surprises will appear?

    well...

Yesterday was mid 90's - I went to a hot rod gathering 45 minutes drive from my place.

Coupe got to 170F, but did not boil - travelled well at 60mph.

The two banger powered cars there at the event - my coupe and the organiser's ccpu - both B powered.

We don't always get a good snow down here so when it happened a couple weeks ago, I couldn't resist getting out to fool around a little bit

Been picking away at this cluster. Got the rear dialed in but plenty of problems left to solve on the front.
Need to start digging into the banger for this.

Pretty handy, you won't have to paint the car or the dog, they're already color matched.
