Proof of why two wheeler bars are better then one.

  9. Jim didn't even have a wheelie bar on the Bantam. Gary is scraping the push bar!

The version of this photo that you posted back in March was much clearer and you were able to read that it is the Russell and Rice car and caption it as such. The owners were Dennis Russell and Jerry Rice and they were out of Lafayette, IN.

Jerry Hays at OCIR on the second week that the track was open in 1967. Although NHRA class racing took place at the opening event at the new facility the second race was a bracket event with Hays taking the Bracket One cash. Hays later ran a fiberglass bodied 27 T with a Competition Engineering chassis in A/SR after the NHRA relaxed the rules for the category and Dean Lowe can tell you all about that.

  17. Yes I can Roo. The long and short of it is they fucked the street roadster classes into oblivion. At least the gassers and fuel altereds went match racing for a while.

  23. And this is the Campos Brothers. The name comes from when they originally ran a front mounted blower.

Seattle in the 60's. I would assume the wood block is there because the car is sitting near the top of the road course hill which comes up behind the tower. Scan7.jpg

Jerry Rushing or Red Paris in the Bowers, Paris and Reed Bantam. The car started life as a steel Topolino and after the Bantam also ran with a 23 T body. First raced in 1963, it ran in its various forms through at least 1970.
