  2. What did you have to do to mount the engine with that stand? I'm looking to put one on a stand soon

  3. Walls, that's the dipper tray. That needs to hold oil for the rods unless you went full pressure. Depending on how long the motor sat water from condensation could cause rust pin holes. Better to find a good one if your not running full pressure to the rods.

I believe you are looking for the what Winfield called the bell crank assembly and bell crank shaft. I have not reproduced these as they are not necessary for all applications, and far more complicated to make than they appear. Please note that they are size specific. The center link will be stamped with letter “A” (for A and AA), “B” (for B and BB), etc…

I’ll get some pics tomorrow, but basically the pan side bolts are running at more of an angle than what you would guess.
You have to compensate for the angle.
I used some small ground down washers and drilled me holes into the mounting plate.

Once it’s in front of you, you’ll understand what I mean.
Easy enough to fab something, just took way longer than what I would have guessed.

I’m thinking that will be a tough one to find. Need a B size.

For now, model T. A mildly worked over '16 engine, warford and a few other bits and bobs.

Kevin, I gather by your comments that you make repro parts for Winfield carbs?

Will do, hell, it has so much room potential, even you might fit. Once I get farther along, I'll send Robin some pictures, the Warford came from him.

Last month sent a teaser pic of axle housing in the lathe
Here is some of the components
    Halibrand 201 QC V8
35 axle tubes shortened with 56 truck ends and brakes
    Resplined and shortened 56 axles
Ring gear and carrier modified with 19 spline side gears
All of this to put under my coop and run std width 57” to get wheels back under the fenders
I currently have 35 rearend and is too wide
Added benefit is retained axles and Bendix brakes

Nice, what are the side gears from? I have a set of f100 9" axles & am just thinking about options...

  18. The side gears are from the 56 truck to match the axles.
There is a ton of machining to be done to fit them in the carrier.

Here's a shot of the "Willie Chambers Special" by Sherm Porter at the Time Trials held at the Santa Margarita Ranch. It has a Fronty T engine. I don't have a time result for the car! FASTSM-2 (2017_06_30 15_13_08 UTC).jpg

Is that the same Willie Chambers that worked at EELCO a hundred years ago and makes reproduction rubber for antique motorcycles?

  24. John,
This is not the car Paul Allen has been working on, is it?
I spoke with him at the RPM event the following week, I guess it experienced a rapid dis-assembly somewhere.

Yes- the same Willie Chambers of Eelco and Antique Cycle fame. Willie made a run of the Morton and Brett bodies by scaling the original patent drawings. The car is currently owned by a friend in Atascadero and has been run at FAST and RPM several years in a row. Back in the day, Willie ran it at the Long Beach Hill climb, so its been around for a few years. DSC00028.JPG The car actually has a B Rajo in it. This picture was taken when Willie was building the car back in 1973 in LA.

Can't say how much I appreciate this image. Thank you for sharing. Do you have any other period imagery?
