I didn't get there till around 2. The heater core blew out on the wagon.

  3. I Thought I would insert a couple of photos of my 65 Vette I have had over 30 years.

My 65 Vette around 1985 before I removed that hideous shark nose front end.

I couldn't help but notice that when it was yellow it had '67 fender gills.
Very cool, though. What size BBC is going in?

  5. Yes, the whole front end was one of those one piece 67 shark nose front ends popular in the 70s. I have a 1965 396 that is going into it. Thinking maybe 2x4s but not sure yet.

Good looking car. I remember those front ends. They were ugly back than and still are today. Love the 396 Chevy motors. Great choice.

  8. Is that a real modified Vette or a total custom body on a race car frame? Windshield posts don't look like they are Corvette.

I believe that this was a real corvette that was modified on the 60s or 70s, I think that I read about it but can't find the write up anymore. Maybe someone else knows more about it. I wonder what kind of roof he put on it?

Wasn't there a kit floating around back then to convert a Corvette to a wagon?

I remember seeing a kit to convert a 70s corvette to a wagon.

I think you're right. You know, the windshield kinda looks like a 70's Corvette to me.

  13. The Rodders Journal had that picture in it one or two issues ago.

I like the C2's as much as the C1's. Great looking cars. 64%20vette%202.jpg 65 straight axle Corvette 1.jpg corvettec.jpg freds1.jpg

Over the years I've owned 4-5 C-2 roadsters but never could catch up to a Coupe. Having the '57 now really makes me appreciate the technological advances GM made in the '63 model. I'm with you Baron, I like 'em both.

I agree but I never did like the body style of the 53-55 Corvettes much. Here are a few more pictures that you might enjoy. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Eckler had a station wagon kit back then, if I remember correctly. They looked pretty cool.

Here are two of my old coupes. The first is a 64 that I owned in 1972-3. Traded it for a Harley Sporster (and the guy I traded with still owns the car today). Second one was a 66 BB with a tilt nose, flared fenders. I owned this car twice. Traded it for a 1932 Ford 5W coupe. Two years later I bought it back and held on it a few more years. Sold it in 1987. It is still one of my favorites of all the cars I have owned. I owned 17 Corvettes, my first being a 1957 and the last being my current 57 ( and hopefully it will not be my last).

image.jpg You are right Baron, I like those two and I have also seen a red custom one that I like. Maybe it's just the stock ones that don't do much for me. Here is a picture of the red one.
