**Horray for the star spangled Banger** July 2013 Banger meet

  1. Snyders can regrind the cams to a more road-friendly profile for $59+exchange. I've got to get the cam out of my old engine to see if the mains and lobes are above minimum diameter....

  2. with the limited amount of info that i know about windfields is that the s or the sr really only describes the accelerator pump thingie on the front
they look to be B or BB size carbs
nice work on getting the setup
    tk

Sorry guys, kinda off the go-fast spectrum, but...I have a Model A running chassis that I would like to make a speedster type beater out of. I want to use the seat similar to the ones rootlieb sells but someone suggested I use 55 gallon barrels to make my own. I like that idea but does anyone have one of those they could make a cardboard template of the shape they could send me so I have a pattern to use on the barrels. Thanks

  5. Unless you're a 55-galon sized guy, a 55-gallon drum might be a little big. Look for the 35-40-gallon size.....

    55 barrels are about 24" dia x 36" tall

  7. As mentioned earlier, I do not have knowledge of G98T-heads, as I have only had G38T's and seen G28T's.

Whether the KF stands for Köln Ford, I also do not know, as I have only seen the logo casted into the head (and clutch housing).

Russian Gaz build model A's on licence, and these engines I know almost nothing about. But the Gaz "AA" are made in several a very fine model kits!

But your link, Majo, seems to be rather resourceful. Hope you find, what you need of info! :)

Anyone know about a Winfield Vibration Neutralizer. There was one on EBay and I bought it on a whim for my B engine?

Experience, thoughts or comments are welcome.

My info is not from personal experience. The problems I've heard about these is that they vibrate loose. If you use it, make sure you check the tightness of all of the bolts on a regular basis.

  11. I was told that there could be a minor clearance problem that would require some grinding to clear spring "U" bolts, seems it was only 28 29. Not sure as it was a few years back when the company first started reproducing them. Use Loctite on the bolt!

How many of you knew Gene Scott ?

  19. ok having some problems
    order some stuff from REDS
    no responce for a week
    called 3 times
finaly get a guy and ask about the statius of my order (header side plate and head studs)
oh the web site is wrong
    header is 2 weeks out
side plate is 2 weeks out
    i canceled my order.....
i am not usually an instant coffee kind of guy, but i know how it goes when 2 weeks turns into 3 ect
so now where do i get some head studs (winfield head install)
i dont really care about the aluminum side plate (it was kind of an inpulse buy)
header would be cool also, but i am not sure i want a cast iron header like snyder sells or Charlie yapps
is there a prefered/alliance vender that sells banger hop up stuff
or any of you guys have anything laying around
