Love the caps. Stance looks spot on. What drivetrain are you using?

Thanks for the interest 39 Guy and Gonzo. The white walls, caps and skirts look was supposed to be a 'get it driving quick and then hot rod' stage, but that went on far too long, so when I decided to pay someone to do some work and move it along, it made more sense to have them do the hotrod version, the one I really wanted. So Old version, sled, current version hot rod.
As to running gear, its a 348 with tripower, T5, dropped and drilled I beam with f250 backingplates and buick drums up front, narrowed banjo, 9 inch axles, early f100 brakes and 201 quick change rear on a narrowed A spring and modified crossmember, 36 bones and torque bars, sitting on 8.5 hali' kidneys on the back, and 4.5 repro kidneys on the front . Inside, stock dash, possibly 39 deluxe gauges, not decided yet, 4 spoke sprint wheel, chrome window garnish, 65 mustang buckets, no back seat and a period style roll bar. Or at least it will be when its finally completed... There's been a few hiccups along the way, but it's getting there

  4. Looks Killer!
Now that you have it all buffed out, hit it with some machine glaze and start soaking wax into it. I rubbed at least 3 bottles of Meguires Gold Class into the OG paint on my 39 after buffing and machine glaze. it still looks great after a few years, but dam did the wax a machine glaze make it pop!

These do both Hotrod and Custom well, was the Custom your doing Neil, or was it a former livery from the 50s 60s?

I prefer that but I'm anxious to see where you take it nose down because I'm certain you will make a convincing case for Hotrod too...;)

    Do you have a Thread?

I think "done right" might be a bit subjective but here's my ol' 40 sedan. I like it. A lot! Screenshot 2024-04-10 at 1.05.37 AM.jpeg

  14. Here's one Rob. Howard has some options as far as rods to drive, so I may have to do a deeper dive to find other images of the '40..

  24. I feel like I've seen this car before, if it's the same one it was once owned by Dave "Frog" Grazyk in Arizona.

Here’s some updated stance shots of mine. Going to throw some 7.50’s on next to see how it looks. 62183535-A82C-4CD0-B39F-52AAF392B22A.jpeg C15F9BE1-1271-4481-BB39-DF0ED2C7AF60.jpeg

That photo bucket across the pics is so intrusive you can really see the pic. No point posting the pic. No one will bother to look past at.
