Never seen that one before Joey. I have a copy of this one which also has a number of hot rods in it.
The RPU on the cover is still around and looks very similar. Last I saw it had green primer paint though.
You said " Quite the book you have here." And you passed at $10? Cause you only had $11? What is money for? And it was still there the next day, and STILL only $10. You're a lucky guy. Are you new at this?
This is one of the cars that inspired me to run exhaust out and under my running boards. Hanging those rear tires, too!
$10 means different things to different people. If you're walking around with all your bills paid, a steady income and money in your pocket, no big deal. If you're out of work, behind on your rent or mortgage and not sure where your next meal is coming from, $10 can mean a lot. No shaming here.
5window wrote "no shaming here" Where I come from, my post would be called teasing.... hence, the emoji. Pretty sure Joey isn't eating out of garbage cans.
Cool find Joey. A little local history here, Roy is from San Anselmo which is a local Marin County town and looking at his jacket he was a member of the Marin Coupe and Roadster Club. A long running Marin car club that I was a member of before I decided car clubs were not my thing. I believe it still exists. If he ever made it to the drag strip it probably would have been Cotati up north or Half Moon Bay down south. I wonder if that car is still sitting in Roy's garage ?
THE ROMPER . Full House 28. Hot Rod Mag Aug 1958. In 1961 I drove the push truck at Kingdon Drag Strip for new owner Don Folly. This was before I had drivers permit . Later it was sold to a guy in Pengrove Ca . Were it still is today. The orig M.C.R.C. club disbanded in 1968 in San Rafael Calif.
Joey, when you're done with it I'll give ya $11. Antique shop sign says, "Buy it now, it may not be here when you come back!" Anything Model A and I'm on it, great score.
My model A coupe , that was a drag car in the late 50’s /early 60’s also has the whole interior painted in Zolatone. It was fairly common on race cars in that era. It can be seen , if you enlarge the picture.
Zolatone, it resembles trunk paint if you know what that is! Eastwood has several varieties, I used the black/aqua in my GTO many, many years ago.
