Hey newbie, do a bit of searching on "Willys" on the HAMB and you can find the thread where the original owner dug it out of the field.

 

Does sound like scam material, but notice guys saying make him put a price on it.
I have dealt with guys that "Would not" put a price on something they had for sale, they would let you walk first and I have had to walk plenty of times, however I have also made a humble but decent offer and bought stuff from the same kind of guy, Maybe Im just not witty enough to make someone price there stuff???

 

I like a line a friend of mine uses often with success on a vehicle that isnt for sale, He says,
"If you were gonna sell it, how much would you ask for it?"
It sometimes works

 

$500. That way if it’s too far gone to use anything I wouldn’t be out much.

 

I would say there is an honest 7-9000$ sitting there. I say this because of the value at the end of the build

 

So, the guy that owns it has it at his house, but the guy that wants to sell it to you is showing pictures of it in the field. I think I smell a rat and I don't mean rod.

Having read corncobcoupe's comments for many years, I know that at his core he is a good guy....and no doubt he attended 'old school'....but have come to suspect he 'may' have skipped charm school...
