This is not Hamber Paintslingers idea of his traditional roadster evolving however
when I saw Hamber Rocker77's photo below from thread link below I saw some dots connecting
apart from the beautiful shot he took. So a blend emerged. I more recently saw
a roadster with a similar blended hardtop that reminded me of this. The Westergard
Roadster also has windshield area mods similar to the pickup posts
I still really like the blend myself...kooky but Hotrods sometimes are just
    that...

    Hello,

My friend in high school was the first guy to get his license and an actual car. He drove us around in his mom’s car first, then, he bought a stock 1955 Chevy 2 door post sedan that was two-toned. We were impressed because he was slightly older and had his license before any of us. Cruising around was a dream-like activity. It was teenage freedom and something we had not experienced before. Go to the Pike? Cruise the Drive-in restaurants? Lions? Go to the famous, local, Cherry Ave Drags? (Anytime up to curfew hours.) So, I thank you for that experience.

The Chevy was very roomy and sometimes, 4-5 of us were cruising around Bixby Knolls. But, in late 1960, we started modifying things here and there to make it look like a cool, So Cal hot rod, similar to ones we saw in the magazines. So, we clamped the springs to get the right amount of the California Rake look. Then had the spring coils cut to fit.

That was the best thing, now, it looked aggressive. It looked very cool, but when 4 teenagers (or even double dates) were in the Chevy, it dropped an inch or so…a true, lowered cruiser! We could not do a lot of heavy duty custom stuff (car out of commission for the mods) as he needed the 55 Chevy for his daily, after school job. One time, we did "wire up" my 2 sets of dual, chromed scavenger pipes (from the 1958 Chevy Impala) underneath, for a different look. That lasted long enough until one of the wires broke on a long cruise down and back on Coast Highway in the 55.

White round knobs, custom wheels, from a 3:55 rear axle gears to a 3:78, and our final project was a custom, floor shifter from our design, in Auto Shop. (then, added a new accessory shift kit from a big mfg.) It was the only 55 Chevy that had a floor shifter in our cruising area.

It was my first chance to be a cruising teenager with a bunch of friends… Places like: Drive-in movies, drive-in restaurants, Cherry Ave, Balboa, Hollywood, Laguna Beach, and even Big Bear Lake, after Christmas, the (5) Long Beach High Schools’ biggest, traditional event. Great memories in a great looking 1955 Chevy… Teenagers as cruisers and hot rod guys...what a concept !

Edco that's a great rendering of a very cool Hotrod 33/34 Dodge/Plymouth Coupe...they have very pleasing lines. I'd love to own one.

Is that a Hamber's or just a Edco Creation.

I don't remember seeing this around.
It would be funny if it was a pic I posted...

I will stop my babbling now...:D...great style as always.

A buddy asked me to paint this for him. I contacted the original artist "David Lozeau" and was given the o.k. (nice guy). EL BANDITO.jpg Here is a 11" traffic signal lens and some one-shot. Gary
