From olcurmdgeon Wow, that guy in the pictures is my buddy Larry R.! Known him for years. He showed the coupe, Y-block version, all over the East Coast. In fact he was showing against the blue Chili Catallo coupe (the one on the Beach Boy's album) back in the day and had purchased a quad headlight fiberglass grill shell like the deuce had. When Larry sold the coupe, he still had the nose and I had it for a while, old green Cal Auto fiberglas. Sold it to the guy who bought the coupe, I believe the guy who listed it on Ebay. Man, that was a long time ago. Just talked with Larry the other day, he is 77 now (long in the tooth like the rest of us), and listed his '57 Ford for sale in the HAMB classifieds. The Gulf station was on Islington Street in Portsmouth, NH back in the day as I recall. I suspect the first picture is Sanford Airstrip, Sanford, Maine. The show picture would have been Frank Maratta's Hartford, CT Autorama. Thanks 32ford5 & Rbantique for photos Sent from my iPad
Two of these old pics are taken at Frank Maratta's Autorama in Hartford CT. ..then the first pic was at a central/or northern New England Airport Drags. I would think that there is a chance that it could info be in the New England History book called "Cool Cars ~ Square Roll Bars" One Boston area guy that knows a lot of early cars in that timeframe is on Hamb as Safariknut? ..I think that is the spelling, or perhaps Safarinut? he is now in upper central US .
Found this other thread that talk about the car https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...n-you-spot-in-this-old-hot-rod-photo.1065561/ Sent from my iPad
I found the book on Amazon a couple years ago? I took a look and don’t see it in there. (Could be and I just missed it though?) I know I’ve seen/saved all the pics you already have of it before. The more recent pics were from when it was for sale on eBay a few years ago IIRC?
So the purpose of this thread has me confused. Is someone on here the current owner? Are you trying to locate the car? Or do you just want to discuss it? Im hoping its the 1st because Id like to see more pics of it.
That is a neat car, got to see it many times throughout the years Sent from my E6810 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
