I have a T5 out of a 1989 4 cyl mustang.I need to swap the input shaft to the V8 style. Is this possible and if so how involved is the swap? It's going behind a sub 200 hp engine in a super light car so am confident I won't break it even though it's out of a 4 cyl car. Thanks for any and all help.

More info would help, are you just concerned about the spline count? or length?, what engine will this be behind? I should add that I looked into doing the same thing and was not worth it for me that's why all the questions, maybe there are other options for you?
