One of my all time favorite I've seen of the 1941-42 1946-48 Ford Customs. This car is owned by an old time customer of mine.

The owner said it has longer suicide doors made from 6 different doors that Miguel 'Magoozi" helped find the parts. There are so many custom features that I believe the owner that he and others took around 5000 man hours labor to build. It probably took another 5000 hours to think all the custom features through.

There's been a '46 short door advertised locally lately. The price keeps dropping too. It's killing me, no time/space/dough.

Ya, there is still quite a few of these coupe projects out there and for a fifth of what a 49 to 51 merc project costs and if your'e not running the stock drive train , you can resale the guts and get most you're money back.

  14. Really glad I found this thread.
Decision time to chop or not chop?? First photo is as it is today and the photoshopped chopped version is done by the moose to assist with the decision.

Hey Magoozi......I was down for El Mirage last weekend and saw Steve Ricketts chopped `49 that you did. I know it`s not a 41-8 Ford, but I really like the treatment. I know it was originally chopped in `55, and you guys kept it era perfect when you re-did it. Fantastic job!! P.S; Adam Rogers says Hi...

    I'm glad its back.

I'm building a pickup from the remains of a 41 Australian coupe ute.

Its pretty neat concidering i started with just a left front fender , a really bent hood and the front half of the ute body that is sedan based. Of that I got the cowl/screen area, two badly rusted doors and 2 bent center pillars. There was no floor or roof. I found it, in pieces. Its about 60% done now.

This is another grill that was popular in the day, though the thread is old I happy to see more of these getting built.
