wow, never had a feature before..
kinda humbling, being just another hack in the garage.
I took the little car on a longer run a couple weekends ago,
just under 300 miles round trip.
    no issues at all.

here is a snapshot from that trip
and a better idea of what the car looks like

Very deserving....all of the good pics during the build thread, showing home done solutions to the whole entire thing.

..and it has the look :)

he, he, but I also still really fondly recall Kathy Isam taking her 32 3w "tuffy" out for the first in car vid, and we could hear her unfinished trunk latch making the lid bang, over bumps.

I've done the first ride a number of times, the heart in your mouth as you go faster and further, checking and double checking in your mind, gradually easing to listening, then feeling, then looking at gauges......then the sigh of relief that it all works. It truly is the best ride, best done alone, then load the old lady up with some confidence and show off your hard work, poke it a time or two, give her an orgasm......been there a time or two.

  10. Simply outstanding. I remember that day well. My Roadster had sat torn apart in the garage for 25 years after I destroyed it. Got laid off from work and apparently i was bugging the wife too much so she said why don't you go fix that POS in the garage and leave me alone. OK no problem!! Many thousands of dollars later I had it all back together. Backed it out of the drive way and started down the street. I was shaking like a leaf as the accident almost killed me. Made it a few blocks when I decided the carbs needed cleaning out and opened it up. After that all was cool.

Watched the video again just now,
    Remembering how it felt,
hypersensitive to every noise and vibration,
all the time thinking of what needs tweeking, toe it, tire pressure, timing, fuel mix..
And what needs completion, or needs to be added, seat belts, lights (only had brake lights at the time of that video), external fuel fill etc.
Most all that is done now, only a few things left to do, mostly cosmetic..
It's to the point now where I'm already thinking about the next build..
    Looking forward to it really.
It's hard to say which I enjoy more, building hot rods, or driving them :)

Great build & drive. Surprised no honks, waves or thumbs up - where the hell are the "car people"? Saw a couple young kids go by on bikes at start - when I was a kid & saw you/that car I would have been at the end of your drive way 12 hours a day. Shake, rattle, & roll on & on...

Squeaks and rattles!? It's a JALOPY! Nice ride and congrats! Nothing beats the first drive.

The 324 firing order: 1-8-7-3-6-5-4-2! Sounds like you got it right.
    And that QC sings.

All those rattles, so normal, so nice! However, the first time you take it out and hear those, you think "Am I gonna fly this thing apart?" "Did I torque down all my bolts to spec?" lol :)

Great video. Great looking car. Sounds real good, even the rattles. I love the way the telephone poles bow down as you go by.

I've read a few threads on the HAMB referencing stereo systems, CD players, amps, subs, etc. After hearing the symphony from your test drive I am even more of the opinion (in Jeff Foxworthy style) "if you can hear your stereo, you may not be driving a hot rod".

    Love your car. Cruise on.
