My dad could fix just about anything and usually did. I remember watching him straighten the frame and body on my mom's Pontiac with a rented torch set in the backyard after one of my older brothers wrapped it around a pole.

Now, I'm exposing my sons to these life skills, using your head and your hands; seeing the science and the engineering in it all; thinking questions about the people who contemplate solutions to problems. Hopefully they'll pick-up on the creativity of it all. We'll see.
