i got into hot rods when my Aunt gave me 65 Lemans at 17 years old. She said it was because I needed a car, I later found out it was because nobody would take it as a trade-in when she bought a new car. Worked out great for me, but I had to quickly learn how to fix and modify everything on a limited budget, and it was a great time! Been addicted to cars ever since.
