The first hot rod I saw that grabbed my attention was a `48 Chevy sedan with a big GMC 6 truck engine rumbling down a slight grade into Martin, KY. That, and a new car at the time: a `61 Chevy Impala, black, lowered, with "Mother in Law" lettered on the front fenders, got me interested in cars at the age of 12.
