My very first visit to a Drag strip was at DOVER DRAGSTRIP In Windale NY and My Heart never left, As soon as I got home I was Building Hot Rod Models of everything from the Hemi UNDER GLASS Cuda to the 2 engined Hurst Olds But it wasn't until I was 15 that I was able to start working on My very own 1966 Chevelle SS 327 that I got from my friend with a Rod knock and it's Been Xmas ever since except for when Mr So and So sold DOVER DRAGSTRIP to Developers then Long inland national speedway Or Drag strip it closed down so from where I lived was either Lebenon valley Dragstrip or take a ride to Epping and go to New England Dragway . So a bunch of Guys from Lower New York State started to do the Street Racing thing that was already pretty wild down at Hunts Point and at the Wedge Inn in the Bronx, and out on the Hutchson river parkway !
