My current project is a 1951 chevy business coupe, it is being built as a mostly mid 60's custom. It will be 95% home built minus final paint, and upholstery, and home built and period correct DOES NOT MEAN RAT ROD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got into cars through the mentoring of my Grandfather, who is one of those old guys we all know who can make anything you suggest out of damn near nothing, He was a machinist and welder in the Navy during WWII, and after that a boiler worker, coal miner, electrician, and Gawd knows what else. In short he knows everything I wish I knew, and I love and respect him for everything he ever taught me. My Father as well, as he is a clone of Gramps and the best damn welder I've ever seen. My first car was a 1961 Impala on skinny whites and 5 spokes, with scallops done in blue flake, and an upholstery job done by my Mom, I loved it . Now I am building a car for my Wife and wanted to check this place out as a resource for info and maybe some friends.
