I got the car bug at an early age from my Dad. Back then working on cars mostly involved keeping the family car and truck running so mom and day could get to work. Dad would take me to car shows and we would dream of owning a '32 hi-boy. I started my first hot rod when I was 16. A guy my dad knew was throwing away the complete drive line, engine, trans, wheels, suspension, everything, out of a '34 Plymouth, so dad had him “throw it away” at our house. I bought a glass body from speedway and dragged a model A frame out of the woods and started putting the car together. In '91 I went in the Navy and my dad continued the project until about '94 when his hot-rod buddy died. Then dad closed the garage door and never worked on the roadster again. In 2007 my father passed away and I reacquired the car and finally finished (well are hot rods ever truly finished?) it in 2008.

I'm still tinkering with the roadster and currently I'm milling an aluminum head for the flat 6.

My other projects include street-rodding (early '70s style) the '39 Plymouth 2-door that my dad rebuilt in '75 and that I drove to high school in '90 - '91. I recently clipped my daily driver '65 Chevy step side with an '89 Suburban front sub-frame. Some day I'll get back to my '30 Model A pick up.

I need a new project like I need a hole in the head....but that never stopped me before!
