That's just about the best ad I've ever seen IMHO. There will be many who see it and don't get it - their loss.
Hat's off to Levi's for a job well done.

    Beats me...

As I understand it, they are reproducing the 501 jeans using the same cuts and materials. Made in the USA, so they will prolly be $300 jeans.

Cool video Ryan. I can appreciate the USA, make 'em like we used to theme. But question whether the populus is still cut the same as the '50s...

    Might be a little snug...:D

Levi's haven't been made in the US since 2004 when they closed thier Texas plant. looks like they are trying to fool the public into thinking they are American made.

Levi's are $4.00 at the thrift store. I haven't bought a new pair in 10 years.

    cool video.

  14. Button fly 501's used to be my favorites... Man i miss them.

Let's hope they can make some USA made jeans that AREN'T $300... they'd be a hit I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing, that was pretty cool.

Actually, you are wrong... They have an entire line of certified Made in the USA garments... They are super expensive though.

I've got no beef with Mexican made 501s...better then PRC and priced right...

Still, some American made ones that aren't too expensive would be great.

technically yes I am wrong. Levi has no manufacturing plant in the US and outsourced the $148.00 501's to another company. they are made in So Cal.

That was a pretty cool clip.

  20. Levis has an entire line of vintage clothing, inspired by designs from the 1890's through the 70's. They are only available through select outlets - looks like they run about $100-175 for a pair of jeans.

Marketing. In pursuit of the highest profit margin, and extracting whatever the market will bear.
If they hadn't closed their Texas plant genuine U.S. made 501s would have likely still be under $60 a pair.

I think Lee's are the only old jeans still made in the U.S.A.

Thats a cool commercial. Im kinda torn on it though.. On one hand its rad that they are giving a tip of the hat to the history that we all know and love as well as our hobby. On the other hand, thats OUR shit..

Still, Im glad they put that together and didn't cheapen it the way they could have..

I didn't know they had 57 Chevys back in 1953. There's something wrong when it costs a Arm and a Leg for a pair of Mexican (or Chinese or where ever Levis are made nowdays) Levis. And shame on Levis for expressing the false idea that their products are Americana when they don't even manufacture here in the U.S. of A. anymore (a pair or two of super expensive jeans don't count).
