Sold my NHF Dart and bought a '54 Ford, 2 door post. Nice driver right now with the inline and three speed but will be getting a v-8 once I finish my '62 c-10. My first Ford so I will be looking for much needed advice in the future. Will be an adventure. Will post pics with my idears soon.
Congratulations! One of my all time favorites. Had one as my first car when I started driving on the hi way in '60. Good handling, well balanced, good in snow, ran even with my cousin's '55 Chevy 6 2 dr, good mileage. Just don't try side stepping the clutch from straight off the floor getting off the line - take up the gear slack first - unless you want some experience with the inside of the tranny. Second one had a 352 in it, took a bit to get it to handle 1/2 way decent, never could get the balance the 6 had. Time comes for a third I'd be going with a SBF base to keep the nose weight down, retain balance. Ed
OK, I took a photo of the car. Will be losing the dummy spot lights and getting v-8 in the future. The interior is pretty stock and in very good shape.
SWEET,,,,,,turn dem lites out before you run the battery down. Now ya want to sell that pickup? "AND THE BOWTIE ROLLS ON"
Nooooo can do on my '62. All I have left on it is the bed and exhaust. That's one project my son will drive...........60mph on the high end. When he moves on to college out goes the 235/3spd and in goes a 350/4spd. I have one thing to say about the cars drivetrain.......it's no laggard.
Bust out the grinder and turn those white letter tires into wide whitewalls, would really look nice. I'd keep the 6 if it runs good but that's just personal opinion, looks like a pretty decent car. I don't even hate the spotlights.
Nice car! You don't need to do much to make them a cool mild custom. Check the build thread and album pics of my old car for some inspiration. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=436445
Hey, just saw your thread. You had told me you were in the market, didn't know you had found one. Congrats, looks nice, bring it by sometime.
