IMPRESSIVE that they took the time to find REAL SW gauges. (Too many restorations / new re-creations turn too quickly to the new crappy SW gauge sets.)
X2 on actually running it somewhere! Maybe not full out but at least a few passes over a 100mph would be awesome! That streamliner just RULES!
Simply beautiful. I have more than a passing interest in metalworking, and i believe that was the first time I was able to see what goes on in the creation of the structural form of the parts. Most books, classes and videos usually only show what's involved with creating the pretty exterior. That said, I chuckled to myself when I pictured Craig Naff whipping up a perfect dome just for the template of the windscreen. He throws away more astonishing work in a day than I could ever create.
Ryan - I think Dr Goggles is referring to the "skidded across the salt" reference in the 4<sup>th</sup> paragraph of your Blog: ... and although the El Mirage lake bed is a parched alkali (i.e., a soluble mineral "salt") dust, I wouldn't recommend that it be used on the the rim of your magarita glass!
This is way cool. I just read the build thread and looked at the photos twice. I love these kinds of projects and have to thank Dan Webb and all the others involved for doing it. Now I have something to really look forward to seeing at SEMA. Thanks for posting.
Outstanding build, I can't add anything to the comments about the quality that others have not already said. Wonder if Gary Emory (Neil's son) has any involvement? I once commented on the SoCal streamliner on Rik Hoving's website and Gary wrote to correct my assertion that the car was destroyed at El Mirage, (as this story correctly notes, it was rebuilt)...so I know that he has history on the car, hope he knows that this flawless reproduction is out...

With this much history I hope its not stuffed into some museum and never taken on tour. How cool would it be for it to be displayed at the Revolution?Make the call Ryan,it wont hurt nothing and who knows it may appear! The original tag is over the top and couldn't be put on a better re-creation.
