I went to the last Wintersun to be held Coolangatta and I am glad it is moving to Port Macquire next year, I hope the new festival to be held in Coolie will be smaller and better quality. I only got around 80 pics before the batteries died, I met up with Nic (autobilly) and he lent me his copy of the complete Throttle collection book, cheers mate!
Damn that looks good. Missed it again. The pics looking towards Surfers. I stood in the very spot and took the same pic 2 years ago. Cheers from NZ.
Thanks JimmyB. Some kool kars. Nice '40's (Ford & Olds), XA coupe & kustom Holdens ( nice to see the classic tricks on the FJ- EH pan, AP5 tailights, louvers). The fenderless cars are all nice. The HUDSON A tub would be a blast. Gaudy 'Stang, looks well done, not my style. Oh bother, Swans are smashin' Port & it's cold, yep, gotta get north again.
Striper, it is a great colour do you know who's it is? Haha, yeah mindless sheep It was a good day around 20ºC, Lots of eye candy (not the cars). I never made it over to the park though. with the new event next year I may enter my roadster if it is finally done.
Thanks for posting, it warms up a crappy, cold and wet day in the Shaky Isles. My picks are the Tub and the FC wagon.
sheep Lots of eye candy They're a lot older close up Jimmy, Thanks for the pics, looks like good weather.
the Blue and white one? That is FCCOOL's wagoon Trust me all the Gold Coast Chics were out and about and they weren't 20 footers those in a poodle skirt are a different story
Both those FC wagons were a standout. Hopefully next year will be more like it used to be. Port Macquarie is welcome to Wintersun, with any luck the fluorescent crowd will go down there and Cooli can back to its roots, cool cars great music and a relaxed atmosphere. Most people I talked to seemed to be set on coming back next year, just hope they think hard about it and don't come up with a cheesy name or cheesy marketing.
Some cool stuff, there.... It's nice to see photos of cars that we don't normally see in the U.S. Thanks! Malcolm
FCCOOL's wagon is superb, the Norman is the icing on the cake! The black Buick "artdeco" was also a stand-out for me, along with the tastefully primered, traditionally styled Hemi powered Deuce roadster (pic's anyone?). Always good to see you Jimmy, thanks for the gift of your "spare" March '50 Hot Rod mag.
Here's a pic of the "Art Deco" Buick I mentioned, taken by Hudson48 and posted in his Wintersun thread. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=484633
