I think it would be great if you could sign up the ones who popped up on your thread about the small independents.

Maybe focus on some of the specialty service providers as opposed to parts dealers.

And, unfortunately, purge the list of those no longer in business.

  11. How about one of the engine/trans adapter places like Wilcap or Bendstens? Their stuff is expensive, but just about everyone on this site has needed an adapter at one point or another.

Hi. how about New Port Engineering. They make modern electric wiper motors & accessories to fit most vintage vehicles. Ordered a new electric Wiper motor for my 50 Plymouth this morning & a discount would have been nice. I did take advantage of the Coker tire discount about a month ago on a set of tires.

I don't know if there already is one and I know it would be a bit of work but an index by parts and services would be nice.

More vendors in the Alliance would be nice, but I really don't pay the Alliance membership dues just to get the discount.
I pay them because I feel like I should be happy to pay for the info I have gotten, and still get, from other members, who often help me so that I don't try to "Reinvent the Wheel".
Kinda goes back to my days of working before I retired, and I was often a dues paying member of a Union when it sometimes wasn't required due to being in a so called "Right to Work" state.
I just felt like if I was making the higher wages and benefits of a Union contract, then I should pay my share of the cost of that Union's collective bargaining efforts. Wasn't required, but it was the "right thing to do".:)

Truspoke. Seriously, they offer steel wheels, artillery wheels, custom offsets, custom powder coating, beauty rings, hub caps and discounts on 'stones if you buy them at the same time. A little something something off the bottom line wouldn't hurt.

  22. You said it Dave, I believe Ryan has the best site on the internet and I don't mind helping keep the lights on, 50 bucks is a bargain.

The beauty of this site is no one is required to join the Alliance to participate on the Hamb and the classifieds are open to everyone.

Hopefully, suggestions by Alliance Members & non Alliance Members alike will be taken into consideration, I would like to think some of the hambers that posted on this thread sign up. HRP

I will be interested how Mac's shakes out. Reading about getting parts comments , stops me from ordering from them.

  30. i have ordered a few parts from Mac's and have never had a problem.
one time i placed an order and one of the parts on my order was actually drop shipped from Honest Charlies.
i never asked, i just assumed Mac's was out of stock and just bought it from Honest Charlies and had it shipped to my house.
another time i was searching for the axle seal (outer) and a bearing and was on the phone with one of the customer service guys for a good long time. he wouldn't stop looking until he found what i needed.
these are just my experiences on the 4 or 5 small orders i have placed with them for things like starter parts, bearings, seals, gaskets, etc. YMMV
