    Roger that!
I've been to many GG shows over the years, if I remember right, long before them upping the 1957 cutoff date, but haven't been for quite a few years. The Pleasanton August show was the first one but also attended a couple of their All American Get Together events.
Never felt more like a kid in a candy store than my first P-town show, this was when the downtown Pleasanton shindig was a must-do part of the week, also went to the downtown Danville deal, absolute elbow to elbow too.
So glad I was never a true traditionalist because those were some very "colorful" years.

  8. @49ratfink -

I've been to all 32 of them ... and would completely agree that its not the same show as it was in 1987:

Jake Jacobs receiving the Stroker McGurk Award at the 1987 Goodguys WCNs.jpg
Tom Medley presenting Jim "Jake" Jacobs the "Stroker McGurk Award" at the 1st Annual Goodguys West Coast Nationals held in
August of 1987 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA ... and that's a much younger me standing next to the stage
in front of Gary "Goodguy" Meadors (kneeling on the stage) ... I just have to laugh at our matching white "Goodguys" baseball caps!

    RIP Tom ... RIP Gary

I'm a bit surprised I didn't run into you at the show ... I was there all day Friday & Saturday ... and for 4 hours on Sunday.

I only took 150 photos (58 with my iPhone & 92 with my Digital SLR) ... partially because I'm slowing down in my old age ... and partially because 60% of the cars didn't interest me.

That said, there still was hundreds (maybe over 1000) "HAMB-friendly" Rods & Customs ... so for me, it's still a worthwhile event to attend.

Thanks for sharing your photos with the H.A.M.B. community ... I know how time consuming it is to resize and upload your images to a forum (vice just providing a link to your photo-sharing website) ... much appreciated!

yes, there many OT rides at these shows, especially on Sunday. but, I agree that there is enough "friendly" rides to make the day enjoyable. plus, never know what might show up in swap meet/car corral

  11. As @Uncle Ronn stated, George Solimine still owns it.

I spoke to George Sr. and his son, George Jr. (@DropTopD) for awhile on Saturday ... our family’s friendship dates back to the late '60s.

Here's a couple of my snapshots of this survivor Hot Rod:

I'll start things off with a pic of Pat (@pgan) Ganalh's old "Low Buck Special" ... currently owned by Sam (@SamIyam) Strube and his friend Tom:

    That is quite an honor,
Bill's tales of himself an' O'l Blue Suade were must read in Street Rodder Magazine.
I visit this legendary car every time I see it.
