Richard Gregg’s 1950 Ford is Found!

Richard Gregg’s 1950 Ford is Found!

My buddy Tony Gomes at Tri-Valley Auto Glass has been doing top-notch custom car work for years. Little did he know he would recently stumble upon a classic 50s custom that had been lost for years; Here’s the story of how it was discovered, in his own words:

“So I just bought this car called ‘The Capri’, built in ’57 (and) it’s been in a barn for over 40 years. My buddy Boogie called me and says, ‘My bosses Father has a truck like the Shampoo Truck’, which we had in the shop at the time. I said, ‘Really… Is it for sale?’ ‘Yes’, he said, and the following week I met up with the owner, we walk down to the barn, he opens the door and there it is… Buried in mud, windows down, flat tires, but complete… That weekend it was in my shop. I just sat there for like 3 hrs and geeked out on it, and was asking myself what the **** happened just now. The plan is to restore it back to when it was first built by Mr Gregg, Candy Red paint and all. Not to mention that 2 years ago, in Angels Camp, my father bought the complete photo album build book of this car randomly…”

You can read more about the history of ‘The Capri’ in my post here, enjoy Tony’s pictures or check out his Facebook feed as he restores it back to it’s 1957 glory.
