Keith Weesner

Keith Weesner

Here at The Jalopy Journal world headquarters we have a few walls that are filled from baseboard to crown molding with art… And anyone that has ever been here could probably tell ya straight away that I am huge fan of Keith Weesner’s work. One wall is almost entirely filled with his prints and I even laid down the coin for an original a few years back.

I come from a family of artists. My big sister and both of my little sisters are incredibly talented artists with pedigrees that would make most blush. Having this sort of background has left me with an appreciation for art that goes beyond just digging on the finished piece. I grew up around the pain, the time, the consideration… everything that it takes to create a piece of art aimed at making someone feel something/anything.

I think that is why I love Weesner’s work so much. All of his pieces are so detailed, so tuned, so seemingly thoughtful… I don’t know that I would have ever classified him as a car artist. He’s the real deal that just happens to paint in a genre that we all love. He’s also a damn nice guy.
