Noir City Poster Shoot…

The San Francisco Film Noir Festival “Noir City” started last week, and to promote the event they released their annual poster. It features a leggy blonde hitchhiking and a certain 1939 Mercury on the side of the road (complete with dead hand in the back seat). I got a call from Dan Stoner back in September asking if I’d be willing to loan out my car for a friend’s photo shoot, and it led to this fine event poster by Bill Selby. For those of you who’ve had your car shot for a poster, magazine, calendar, etc., you know it can be fun, but it’s also a ton of sitting around, moving vehicle positions, and then more sitting around. Despite all the hours spent idle, its still cool to know that your car will live on in print. Somebody, somewhere will have an image of your car up in their garage or office to hopefully inspire them with their own car. I like that.
