Sun Tach

I love tachometers… All sorts of them. There’s just something about their purpose and form and… I don’t know, I just love ’em. So much so, in fact, that I couldn’t stop myself from buying two this week. The first was an absolute score at $13 (I swear Marcie… that’s all I paid!) for an early S/W job that was mislisted on eBay. The second was the Sun tach you see above. And that is where the questions start.

I know I’ve seen pictures of these in Dean Batchelor books, but that’s really all I know about them. When did Sun produce these? Were they for an automotive application? What do you know?
