Go to SEMA Once in Your Life.

The annual SEMA (Speed Equipment Manufacturing Association) has descended on the massive Convention Center at Las Vegas once again. For those unfamiliar with this bonkers 4 day trade event, SEMA is the largest gathering of OEM and aftermarket automotive products in the world, attracting 160,000 visitors and 2400 exhibiting companies. There is just no way to see it all and make it out alive. Among the the 4X4s, exotics, drift cars and low riders, you’ll find a decent selection of killer hot rods and customs, including many 40s – 60s icons on display, and at least a hand full of top-notch traditional builds among them (such as Colby Martin’s super-clean hot rod Model A above).

Sadly, I couldn’t make it for SEMA 2023, but I’ve got many great memories like meeting the Pierson Brothers with their freshly restored coupe on display, and over the years rubbing elbows with George Barris, Ed Iskenderian, Wally Parks, Vic Edelbrock Jr., Art Chrisman, and so many more hot rodding legends. If you can find a way to get a pass, you gotta go- At least once!!
