The 1960 NHRA Nationals in Detroit

Why have one movie of the week, when you can have two? Again, I’ll be surprised if this gem hasn’t been shared on the HAMB before, but here goes…. You might remember Joey’s TJJ post called “Dueling at Detroit Dragway, 1960”? Well here’s a film from that event that the NHRA actually captured, self-explanatorily titled “The 1960 National Championship Drag Races”. This is another one of those vintage ‘documentary’ type of short films with a dry-sounding narrator clinically explaining how drag racing works, almost like a high school educational piece, but regardless it has plenty of great racing footage…. And SO many great cars from an amazing time in hot rod history!
