Dear Santa… A HAMB Holiday Wish List.

Well here we are, deep into the Holiday season and only a few days away from a visit from ‘ol Saint Nick. Now I know you’ve all been good little hot rodders, so tell us what you put on your wish list for Santa this year… I’ve scanned a few of the Christmas-themed ads from the December 1950 issue of Hot Rod magazine, just to help give you some ideas of what you might want to ask for. Please let me know below! This particular copy is very  special to me, because it belonged to my late father, Jerry Ward- In fact, you can see his hand-written name inside the cover. It’s interesting to think that he was just a 9 year old boy when this copy arrived in his Kansas City mailbox that Christmas. The subscription to the magazine was actually gift from his father (my grandfather), who wasn’t particularly a ‘car guy’, but knew just what my dad would love to receive for the Holidays.

(Note: I initially wanted to share the more famous December 1951 Hot Rod, with cover art by Tom Medley and XMAS List by Stroker McGurk, but alas, I don’t have it in my collection.)
