What Would You Do With It?

I’ve been known to frequent the salvage auction sites, looking for deals on old motorcycles and classic cars from time to time, sometimes referred to as a ‘bottom feeder’. Not that I was looking for one, but a fairly original-but-tattered ’56 Corvette came up recently, and I really want it. Looks like it had an electrical or fuel fire under the hood that got a little out of control. Much of the associated wiring and a few engine compartment items are completely toast, and the front fender got a little lumpy, but nothing too scary. This particular Vette is an older restoration with bad red paint, a grimy interior, and rusty chrome, but thankfully it’s a manual transmission car and she’s got the hardtop still in place. The real question is what to do with this car, if I happen to score it for a good price at the auction? I think it’s just roachy enough that I would make her into a mild custom: Lowered way down, de-chromed, custom pearl paint, and some cool wheel covers or chrome wheels and spider caps.

What would you do?
