Here’s another one from the archives- A J.C. Whitney & Co. catalog from 1954 with plenty of parts and accessories to make your tired old heap look it’s best! You’ve heard the classic saying that ‘money can’t buy you taste’, which may be true, but it can buy you way too many bolt-on accessories, throwing your car’s taste out the window. Like so many car catalogs of the 50s and 60s, J.C. would tell you that ‘more is always better!’ As a young car nut I would look through accessories like these, circling parts and dream about the stuff I would dress up my first car with. It was only as I matured in the hobby that I started to comprehend sticking with a design theme, and that ‘less is usually better’… And a whole lot cleaner.
