Rex Rods: Roots and a ’29 Touring

Rex Rods: Roots and a ’29 Touring

Twenty years ago, before Keith Tardel was managing deep client waiting lists, he kept himself busy by building very traditional and very simple hot rods. They were typically built out of model-a’s, always powered by flathead Fords, and consistently had a look that drove me into my love for traditional hot rods.

About a year ago, we pooled our money together and bought a complete, but disassembled ’29 touring car out of the Lone Star Round Up swap meet. This past weekend Keith decided it was time to take a little time for himself… and go back to his roots.

So Tardel isn’t working out of my shop space any longer and this is gonna make covering this build day-to-day a little more challenging, but I still hope to get out to his new space at least once a week or so to keep us updated. So… Stay tuned. This one should be fun.

Editor’s Note: Please excuse my shitty cell phone shots…
