Maggini Motor Car Co. of San Francisco

One of the earliest Ford dealerships in San Francisco was operated by ‘Babe” Maggini, and one particular photo, taken outside Maggini Motor Car Company at 123 Jackson St., really caught my eye.

As a promotion for the new 1932 Fords, flanked by two black ’32 sedans is what appears to be a Model 18 DeLuxe Phaeton with two tone paint, running board step plates, and a clear glass(?) hood to show of the all-new V-8 motor. You look further and notice the man standing up in the back seat is holding a demonstrator scale chassis of the all-new ’32 frame and beefed-up suspension. There is even a second rolling chassis on the table behind him! How cool would it be to find one of those now?
