A Black 1957 Chevrolet

A Black 1957 Chevrolet

1957 Chevrolet

It’s tough to do a ’57 Chevrolet without ending up with a cliche for a car. Let’s face it, the ’57 Chevy is most likely the most over-done car on the planet. You see em at drive-ins, the local cruise nights, on posters at bad 50’s style diners, etc… They are everywhere and because of this, the car has a kind of safe or cute vibe to it. It’s a shame really…

The Fidgiter’s dad decided to build one his way and the result is nothing less than inspirational. How did he do it? Liberal use of the color black on a very industrial feeling 210 body.

This whole car feels like a radio delete plate. It’s stripped of anything and everything that communicates cute and what is left is painted a deep black. Black paint, black wheels, no caps, limited stock 210 stainless, black bumper, clean grille, etc… The final product feels more like an early stock car sans the lettering or maybe a pre-production prototype. I love it. The only changes I would consider are throwing out the modern bucket seats in favor of a stock bench covered in cheap vinyl.
