Love The Bomb

Love The Bomb

Ray Lisea’s roadster as featured in the January, 1959 issue of Rob Builder & Customizer… It’s hard to ignore the fact that this is really an awkward car. It’s proportions are just a tad off, the front-end feels incredibly heavy, the caps don’t work all that well, the interior color clashes with the exterior, the nerf bars are anything but elegant, and…  I could go on, but I don’t wanna piss Ray off too badly. I’m sure he’s still out there.

Hang in there for me Ray.

Despite all the bad shit I wrote, I still have always had a thing for this car. I imagine the nerf bars in a trash can, the interior in a black naugahyde, and the caps tossed in favor of something more simple (maybe body color painted steelies with no caps at all). I could live the chubby rear quarters and I actually love the strange hood sides…

Anyway, point being – everyone has someone who love them.
